Digital Advertising to Gain Momentum in İzmir, Says Filiz Avcı Belet
İzmir, Turkey – Filiz Avcı Belet, Council Member of the Open-Air Advertising and Organization Committee of the 52nd Advertising Public Opinion Research at the İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO), stated that the digital advertising sector will make more effective use of emerging technologies starting from the new year. She noted that AI-driven digital ads will become increasingly prominent in the sector, with personalized advertising and video advertising emerging as rising trends.
Belet also highlighted that İzmir is making significant advances in digital advertising. She explained that for the first time in Turkey, digital cubes—equipped with 4 large screens measuring 5 and 2 meters each—are now operating at 10 different locations in İzmir, allowing for 3D digital advertisements.
Potential for Key City Locations
Referring to İzmir’s technoparks and its pool of creative young talent, Belet suggested that the city could become Turkey’s “advertising hub.” She added, “Central areas such as Karşıyaka Çarşısı or Kıbrıs Şehitleri could be equipped with large digital panels similar to Times Square. The advertising panels in the square receive approximately 1.5 million daily impressions, with advertising fees ranging from $1.1 million to $4 million annually.”
